Libby will show you how to make a lot of bias tape for binding all at once. Pull out your scrap bin and make use of it!
Step 1
- Choose a square of fabric. *18” x 18”makes a lot of bias tape.
Step 2
- Mark a line diagonally on the fabric - Cut square in half
Step 3
- Match those edges that you just cut, with right sides together *triangle points will hang over the opposite triangle edge to allow for 1/4” seam you make in the next step
Step 4
- Attach the two triangle pieces with 1/4'“ seam allowance - Press seam open
Step 5
- Determine your preferred width of bias tape - Mark cutting lines equal distance apart along diagonal edge
Step 6
- Trim excess fabric after you have marked as many lines that will fit (equally distanced)
Step 7
- With right sides together, pin edges of fabric matching the lines you just drew - Then shift one width over
Step 8
- Attach with 1/4” seam allowance - Press seam open
Step 9
- Begin cutting along drawn line in a continuous spiral
Press all the seams along the tape and roll it up for your next project!
